The 2025 Pet Photo Contest, organized by the Quapaw Nation STEM Team, is an engaging fundraiser designed to support educational programming in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for Native youth.
Purpose of the Fundraiser
Native American students remain underrepresented in STEM fields. While they make up over 1% of the U.S. population, they account for less than 0.5% of STEM degree holders.* Programs like this help provide access to hands-on learning, mentorship, and culturally relevant experiences that improve educational outcomes and career pathways.
Funds raised through the contest support STEM fairs, robotics kits, workshops, and other initiatives that encourage Native youth to explore and pursue STEM education.
