COMPASS ACADEMY NETWORK PRESENTS $5,000 PARTNER GRANT TO QUAPAW

SCHOOL DISTRICT

QUAPAW, OK – December 18, 2025 – Compass Academy Network (CAN) is proud to award

Quapaw Public Schools a $5,000 Partner Grant in recognition of its outstanding efforts and

participation in the 2025 CAN summer program. The award was presented on December 16

at Quapaw High School during the high school basketball game. The grant supports middle

school initiatives and celebrates the school’s commitment to student growth and development.

This summer, more than 280 students participated in CAN’s free, four-week, full-day

summer enrichment programs across rural sites in Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. In

Quapaw, 16 students participated in the program, with 12 students graduating with

perfect participation and earning a $45 Walmart gift card for school supplies.

Led by local educators and Peer Mentors, college students who are aspiring teachers, CAN

offers hands-on activities and experiences designed to help middle school students

entering grades 6–9 grow, learn, and stay engaged during the summer.

“Compass is about more than academics, it’s about helping students believe in

themselves and their potential,” said Debra Humphreys, Founder and CEO of Compass

Academy Network. “We’re proud to partner with rural school districts to continue to create

meaningful opportunities for students to grow as learners, citizens, and future leaders.”

CAN’s curriculum features hands-on activities in Civics, Creative Writing, Mathematics &

Decision Making, Art, Study Skills & Personal Development, and Team Building. Each week,

students enjoy Friday field trips to places like Crystal Bridges, Lowell Milkin Center for

Unsung Heroes, and the PSU campus.
