Workshops like this create opportunities for youth to learn through hands-on experience while spending time with their community. Cultural activities and traditional arts are often an important way to build connection, confidence, and a sense of identity.

Research from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) highlights that culturally grounded programs can support resilience and overall well-being for Native youth by strengthening community ties and cultural engagement.

Traditional arts and hands-on learning also play a role in passing knowledge between generations. Programs supported by the National Endowment for the Arts emphasize that workshops and community-based learning help preserve and continue cultural practices in meaningful ways.

This workshop offers a space where creativity, culture, and community come together. It provides youth with an opportunity to learn, participate, and connect in a respectful and supportive environment.

To sign up, contact Kristen Keys at (918) 325-2886 or kristen.keys@quapawnation.com.
