Supporting Language and Community

Language classes like these play an important role in maintaining cultural identity and strengthening the community. By creating a space where the language is spoken regularly, participants contribute to keeping the Quapaw language active and present in everyday life.

Research from the Administration for Native Americans highlights that community-based language programs help improve cultural continuity and strengthen connections across generations.

These classes also provide opportunities for knowledge to be shared between elders and younger participants, helping ensure that the language continues to grow and be passed down.

Attend and Be Part of the Effort

Community members are encouraged to attend and take part in the Lunch & Learn sessions. Whether you are new to the language or already familiar, each class offers an opportunity to practice, connect, and support the ongoing revitalization of the Quapaw language.
