Protecting Oklahoma’s Wetlands – Join Us for a Free Workshop

Did you know that wetlands are among the most valuable ecosystems in Oklahoma? These natural areas filter water, provide habitat for wildlife, reduce flooding, and support cultural traditions. Yet, many wetlands are at risk of being lost or damaged.

That’s why the Quapaw Nation Environmental Office is hosting the Quapaw Wetlands Training Workshop on September 9-11, 2025, at the Quapaw Nation Community Building in Quapaw, Oklahoma.

This free, three-day event will cover essential topics such as:

• Wetland Identification & Classification

• Restoration & Monitoring Techniques

• Cultural & Ecological Importance of Wetlands

• Field Demonstrations & Hands-On Activities

The workshop is designed for environmental professionals, students, and community members who want to learn how to help protect and restore these vital ecosystems. Led by Steve Patterson of BioxDesign, participants will gain both knowledge and practical experience.

Space is limited, and registration is required.
