The Quapaw Nation is preparing a new series of Digital Skills Classes designed specifically for Elders. These hands-on sessions will focus on helping participants feel more comfortable using everyday technology such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
The goal of the classes is to make technology easier to understand while providing a welcoming environment where Elders can learn at their own pace and ask questions along the way.
The three-day learning series will cover a range of practical topics, including understanding personal devices, navigating the Quapaw Nation website, and developing everyday digital skills.
Quapaw Nation Elders Digital Skills Classes Schedule
Day 1 – Understanding Your Device
Participants will learn the basic functions of their phone, tablet, or laptop. Topics include adjusting settings, connecting to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, opening internet browsers, installing or removing apps, and sending text messages or emails.
Day 2 – Navigating the Quapaw Nation Website
This session will focus on how to find important information on the Quapaw Nation website, including meeting agendas, resolutions, events, staff contact information, forms, and other community resources.
Day 3 – Everyday Digital Skills
The final session will focus on common digital tasks such as searching online, safe social media browsing, filling out online forms, accessing information sent digitally, and understanding basic internet safety.
Help Us Shape the Class
Before the classes begin, a short participant survey has been created to better understand what participants may want help with.
This feedback will help tailor the sessions to focus on the needs and interests of those attending.
