Gregory Redeagle

Gregory “Greg” Lee Redeagle went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021, at the University of Chicago Medicine after a short battle with cancer. He was 62.

Greg was the youngest child of John and Alberta (Kennedy) Redeagle, born November 30, 1958, in Muskogee, OK. When he was a young man, Greg joined the United States Air Force. He served therein as a firefighter until his honorable discharge. He graduated from Oklahoma State University as an automotive technician. Shortly after, Greg and his family relocated from Oklahoma to Indiana, where he spent the remainder of his life. He worked for many years at a steel mill, where he made many friends and good memories. He later trained as an electrician and continued working for the steel mills in that capacity. Greg enjoyed working on cars, golfing, birdwatching, and haggling at flea markets and yard sales. He took particular joy playing Santa for area children in a suit his mother-in-law made for him. Greg treasured his Bible and spent time daily in the Word. Most of all, Greg loved his mother and his family. Greg is survived by his fiancée, Marella Jacobs of Hammond, his children Bryan (Cassandra), David (Sara), and John, the mother of his children, Mary Redeagle, his mother, Alberta, brothers Tommy (Kathy) and Paul (Judy), sister Susie (Jerry), grandchildren, Isabelle, Dmitri, Rahvin, Scarlett, Theo, and Lily, close friends Sarge, Sam, and Laura, and his beloved dogs, Ember and Mina.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, brother, Mickey, and nephew, Chris. Meeting him on the Rainbow Bridge are his special dogs, Sable and Toots.
Greg was laid to rest in the Quapaw Tribal Cemetery in Miami, OK, following a Quapaw graveside ceremony by Jeremy Olsen and Everett Bandy.
