Carol Lou (Allen) Green

Carol was born June 12, 1946 in Manhattan, KS to Dr. Noah Gregory and Patricia Lorraine (Daylight) Allen. Carol is the granddaughter of Roy and Flora (Kirkendall) Allen of Bristow, OK, and Jesse and Lucy (Hawk) Daylight of Quapaw, OK; she is the great-grandaughter of Jesse Allen (U.S. Marshal/Euchee light-horseman of Indian Territory). Her Quapaw great-grandparents were Isaac and Fannie (Crawfish) Daylight of Quapaw.

Carol had lived in Quapaw for the past 12 years moving from Phoenix, AZ. She was an educator and administrator for the BIA. Carol was a member of the Quapaw Tribe and Spring River Indian Baptist Church. Carol was preceded in death by 2 husbands Richard Evans and Edward Albert Green and her parents.

During her high school years she was an active student at Forest Grove Union High School, in Forest Grove, Oregon, participating in sports, dance line, Girl Scouts, Girls State, Booster Club, Drama, and student government. She graduated with the class of 1964. She began her higher education at Pacific University in Forest Grove and obtained her B.A. in E. from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. She concluded her formal education with a masters degree in Educational Administration from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

Carol was an educator and administrator for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Carol served at Haskell Indian Nations University as dean and as president of Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI). She also served in leadership roles for the North American Indian Tennis Association (NAITA) and the American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame (AIAHOF).

Carol was a member of the Quapaw Nation and campaigned for chairman of the Quapaw Business Committee in 2016.

Carol was also an active member of the Spring River Indian Baptist Church.

Carol was preceded in death by husbands Raymond Weston, Richard Evans and Edward Albert Green and also by her parents. Survivors include 1 son Chief Allen Weston of Miami, OK, 4 sisters Patricia Lorraine Bluespruce of Sun City, AZ, Holly Mullan of Quapaw, OK, Dawn Kelly Allen of Quapaw, OK and Casaja Daye Qualls of Quapaw, OK.

Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Steven Daugherty will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
