Alice Ann Allen

Alice Ann Allen was born June 3, 1938, in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Jack Scott Bradshaw and Mary Helen (Williams) Bradshaw Anquoe. She departed this life on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 25 days.

Alice graduated Marquette High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the class of 1957. She graduated Saint Mary’s of the Woods Catholic Liberal Arts School in Terre Haute, Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She also spent 1 year at the University of Tulsa. She continued her education at the University of Oklahoma by obtaining a Master’s Degree in social work. On September 1, 1962, Alice Ann Bradshaw and Johnny Gene Allen were united in marriage. Johnny preceded Alice in death on May 20, 2008. The couple had been married over 45 years.

Having lived in Skiatook, Oklahoma as a child, Locust Grove has been Alice’s home since 1967. She had also lived in Tahlequah, Pawhuska, Ponca City, and Muskogee. She was a member of Saint Brigid Catholic Church in Tahlequah. She began her career in social work in Tahlequah, Oklahoma working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Alice then went on to the Osage Agency in Pawhuska. She also worked for the BIA in Muskogee as the director of social work retiring in 1993. Always wanting to help people, after retirement, Alice worked as a social worker in home healthcare and also at DAVITA Dialysis Center in Tahlequah.

Alice was proud of her ancestorial lineage as a member of the Osage and Quapaw Nations. She loved to attend Pow Wows and tribal festivals because of their social aspects. Alice was a part of a women’s group that gathered to fellowship in meals and presentations. She also was a part of group of retirees that met in the Tahlequah area. Always a person of service, Alice was a member of Stephen Ministries, an organization that helped people that were hurting or in need. She thoroughly enjoyed going to garage sales, resale shops, and flea markets.

Alice worked hard for her family as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She, above all, enjoyed supporting her family in all of their sporting events and activities. She was loved by her family and will be missed dearly by them as well as her friends.

Alice is survived by: 1 daughter: Kim K. Allen and Sam Neugin of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; 1 son: Scott E. Allen and wife Rachel of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren: Jonathan Allen and Tosha, Wallace “Alex” Allen and Chyanne, Feather Stephens and husband Troy, and Jalen Allen and Kaylee Sanders; 8 great grandchildren: Jinger, Jett, Serenity, Ella, Leteycia, Victoria, Veronica, and Samuel; 1 brother: Danny Bob Bradshaw and wife Laura; 5 sisters-in-law: Sue Allen, Linda Allen, Sandra Mitchell, Gatra Bradshaw, and Sharon Blackwell; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; 3 brothers: Scott Bradshaw, William Anquoe, and Rocky Bradshaw; and an infant sister.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 P.M., Monday, May 3, 2021, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel with visitation afterwards. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held and graveside services will be held 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
