My name is Henry Ellick. I am running for a position on the business committee. My mother was Cecilia (Quapaw) Ellick. My grandmother was Louella(Crawfish) Quapaw and my grandfather was Solomon Quapaw. My mother and Aunt Maud were elders in the Quapaw tribe. They were always ready to cook for burials and our memorial dinners.
I have been married for 51 years and I have one son and 2 daughters. We have 8 grandchildren.
I graduated from Quapaw High School. After high school, I attended and graduated from Oklahoma State Technical College. I then enlisted in the Army and served a year in Viet Nam and finished my tour with a year in Germany. After returning home, I went to work at the Seneca Indian School until it closed. After that I worked as business manager for the tribe. I am familiar with tribal operations. I retired from the Department of Corrections after 25 years. During this time I also worked for Rocmond.
